Beautuful Colorado aka our Back yard

We took our first family hike yesterday and
had so much fun we went back for more today!

About a mile from our house there are many
trail heads some more challenging than others
so we started with a nice easy (all up hill)
beginner and it was perfect dogs stayed right
along side, up at the top an old mine The Sally
Barber the sand was a glimmering gold which I now
know is FOOLS GOLD it was Beautiful.

These mines are all over abandoned and give you a
real sense of the history that was once there.
The trail had a Stream that was right along side
the whole way up and gus had a few dips while Zoey
preferred a Snow patch to roll around and cool herself
off.

Today we went back and took a very easy hike and came across another
abandoned mine this one was surrounded by water a dredge maybe? We could
not figure it out. The hike was easy and we ran into a few of our neighbors
on the trail ( we recognized their dog) We now know them by name!

Back to work tomorrow I actually have great news I am pretty sure I have a
new Job and its at a floral Shop in town called Bloom 30-40 hours a week and
I will still be working at Ember! Hope it all works out fingers and paws crossed.

Here are some pics of our hikes .....

Summer lovin

Would like to say that I am officially loving the
Mountain Weather in the Summer! Was never fond of
Sunning myself considering I burn...not to mention
the dreaded H-word Humidity!!! When its Sunny out
and you want to sit out on our deck you do not feel
the need to Jump into a Pool which is nice because
there are none here!! Except at the resorts but,
really you don't even need one.

I managed to get 6 days this week of work at Ember
and it I keep getting more but, will continue my
search this week for another. We had a great weekend
Sat. we went into town for a little breckfast and Kingdom
Days, a festival of sorts representing the history of
Breckenridge... Gold Panning stations, Donkeys,Petting
zoo including a Bull,lama,goats,bunny,chicken,pony and
more Donkeys! Free Donkey Rides and the oldest Donkey
there was 20 years old!!! They can live to be 40! Who
knew?

Thunder storms and rain yes RAIN no Snow and its really
chilly right now today's high was 65! Seriously come visit
its the Perfect time and its so BEAUTIFUL here.

June so far...

Summer is here with a touch of Spring and we are
all really enjoying our deck time including Henry! Flowers are
planted along with herbs, tomatoes and Pablo-pablano :)

Work is picking up I am still only getting 2 days at
ember and still looking for a summer job. We have been
trying to get out and check new outdoor stuff on our
days off today we did our first Bike ride up french
creek zoey and gus followed and will make this a daily
event since they loved it so.

We have great neighbors on all sides and its nice to
see them out and about kids playing dogs playing and
mountain views that will take your breath away.

Other than that nothing else to report unless you want
to know that I made waffles this am for breakfast with
our little waffle maker ( Wedding present ) Hope everyone
is enjoying their Summer!!
