Being a Stay at home Mama can drive you into Creative OVERLOAD! I have a problem/obsession with anything design and have for years. If there were a Support group, I may consider being the president:) So Projects are my go to at nap time which really on most days is about an hour if I am LUCKY:) side note: when papa is off he naps for 2 hours wha wha. I usually have stuff around so there really is almost no cost involved! Free! So here goes all the Creative Goodness going on:)
This project was easy and fun but, not free:( although it could have had I found these hoops at my parents like I had hoped that I would and of course I did 3 weeks later! The Leland Tug "The Janice Sue" she is Lelands little Mascot if you will. Beau got these t-shirts as gifts so of course after he grew out of them I wanted to use them for my "Big Hoop Project" to represent Leland in Beau's room. No t-shirt was harmed during this project, so pulling fabric tight was key! The sides were a little ehhh so I took a marker to each one. So fun and easy and who knows may be using these t-shirts again for another little Sweeney:)
This Winter was also good for the Creative Junkie... these butterflies wanted a make over in the worst way,so I did them a solid and gave them a sleek new black finish 20 minutes and our photo wall is looking Dapper!
Next up with some Glue Gun Fun and extra fabric on hand...
Empty Diaper boxes are a plenty around here, so this project was a little recycling put to good use! These babies are easy to do and serve a much needed purpose! STORAGE, for all your babies goodies. He Loves them and quite often I find him like this...
not to mention they were very handy on our recent Road Trip:) Box of fun for the long car ride! I even recently did one for a friends Baby Shower gift :) I may have one more in me but, after that I think I am good, besides we are working on Potty Training so hopefully no more diaper boxes in our future:)
This next one was my favorite :) i love Art, it makes me all kinds of Happy so this one I call my "Art Project"
Thrift store frames with Matte, White Spray Paint, an old game called Squirm that I bought 15 years ago with my Best Friend while we were at the old contemporary art center on 5th street. This was a silly little game I think maybe $4? Played it one time that night at a friends house! 15 years later it is Art in our living room:) They are playful and fun and could go in a child's room but, for now they are playing in our living room! #lovinit
Thrift Stores are where its at with frames, I got this baby for $1.99 with matte! When I saw it I knew what was going to be framed and it only took me 4 years to do so:)
Hello Greenie! Yes this is her name:)
This is a photo taken of the day we got engaged in Michigan, not of where we got engaged. The Leland Report photographer Keith Burham takes a photo everyday of the year and you can always buy them this happened to be a gift I bought for Scott for Christmas that year:) and yes just now getting around to framing it! Speaking of gifts... one last one I forgot to post about Scott's Valentines gift from me this year:)
and her name is Ariel! Scott named her:) She is an Air Plant and she lives in the terrarium I found for a 1.00 at the thrift store:) She just needs a little mist every couple of days and she brings us lots of happiness:) So Hope you like my projects of Winter will be getting GROOVY outside for SPRING!
